Bernhard Law Firm is proud to have co-sponsored the Miami Student Educational Enrichment Drive (SEED) event for local public schools, titled Sunset on the Amalfi Coast Gala. SEED’s annual gala and silent auction is its largest fundraiser of the year, all in the name of local public education.
SEED‘s fundraising goal for this year’s Gala was to update the Cafetorium at Sunset Elementary to create an inviting space to gather and celebrate school events including guest speakers from the community, school award ceremonies and educational functions.
The SEED public school fundraiser set out to purchase of new audio/video equipment including; a projector, sound system and lighting. The purchase of this equipment will supplement and improve access to technology within Sunset Elementary Public School. With these projects, we will continue our effort towards enriching local public schools with state-of-the-art equipment and technology.
The Student Educational Enrichment Drive (SEED) is a non-profit support organization that actively works to provide financial support to local public school’s technology and curricular initiatives.
SEED serves as an advocate for community support, as well as, a venue for individuals and businesses seeking to assist local public schools when and where local, state and federal funding fall short. The organization seeks to preserve proven and first-rate programs and resources that can be used as a model for other schools.
SEED has most recently raised funds to:
- have laptop charging carts in every classroom,
- much needed computer and server upgrades, as well as
- new webcams, document cameras and wireless keyboards for all instructional staff.
- We also fund BrainPOP and Languagenut for schoolwide use yearly.
In addition, SEED has developed a Classroom Educational Enrichment Grant Program. This program provides our teachers a funding mechanism for resources which cannot be funded through the school system. In the past, the Program has enhanced our school garden, provided in-house science field trips, and purchased STEM equipment for the students.
