This case arose from a consumer’s transfer of purchase funds in exchange for possession and title from a Fort Lauderdale dealer and trader. The trader failed to transfer title and instead repeatedly issued temporary documents to keep the purchaser at bay. Bernhard Law Firm sued on behalf of the consumer, bringing claims for fraud and civil theft. Today, the Court granted summary judgment in favor of Bernhard Law Firm’s client, awarding triple damages for all losses, plus attorney’s fees and costs.
