A Fort Lauderdale court granted Bernhard Law Firm final judgment in a civil conspiracy case today. (Florida Bar disclaimer: results may not be typical. You may not have as beneficial a result). Bernhard Law Firm brought this conspiracy case against a national thoroughbred horse trainer and racing team, alleging that the defendants converted deposits and payments from other business transactions for use in national horse racing and gambling enterprises, along with personal use. Bernhard Law Firm sued on behalf of several victims, tracking the fraud through racing and media posts. Today, the Court granted final judgment in favor of Bernhard Law Firm’s clients, holding that defendants had engaged in civil conspiracy to convert funds and defraud, and awarding damages for all losses, plus interest, attorney’s fees, and costs.
